THE HEART BEHIND THE BLOG
Hi, I'm Julia Ford! I'm a wife and stay-at-home mama of three— Annabelle (4), Owen (2), and Charlotte (1). My family lives in Louisville, KY where both my husband, Jarrett, and I take classes at Southern Seminary.
My former pastor, Sam Storms, would often say that a Christian's relationship with The Lord ought to be one of both light and heat. (Originally based off of an illustration used by Jonathan Edwards.) Light, he would say, is knowledge, intellectual engagement, and deep thinking about the things of God. Heat symbolizes affection, love, and zeal for our savior. My hope in this blog is to pursue a deep knowledge of the Scriptures in order to produce a greater love for the one who both authored and fulfilled them. We seek to engage our minds, not that we may be puffed up by how much we know, but that our hearts may be continually transformed. As we meditate on the light, may it begin to radiate heat within us and lead us into a deeper and fuller worship of our Lord Jesus Christ.
